Reneilwe "Yeye" Letsholonyane and Siphiwe Tshabalala have begun to prepare for life outside of football.
After two years of planning and development, the two stars and best friends recently opened a trendy drinking hole in Dobsonville, Soweto.
ShaYe Lounge is an exquisite two-storey beer house with a stunning view of Soweto from the roof, which opened quietly six weeks ago but is still officially opened.
Football stars bought the famous Morris Bar in Dobsonville in 2015 and then razed them to the ground to build their dreams.
Letsholonyane said that the pizza is designed to bring elegance to the town and attract more people.
He said that he never thought of this kind of business adventure, but when he learned that his favorite leisure resort was about to be sold, he was heartbroken.
“This place used to be a bar. Every time I had a chance, I would relax there. So one day, I heard that the owner wanted to sell this place, I know I can't let it go.
“When it was on the market, Shabba and I thought we should buy this place to keep it loved, turn it into something beautiful, and leave a legacy for our children.
“At the time, we were still focused on our profession, but both of us knew what we wanted in this place and decided to develop it at our own pace.”
He says.
The lounge is currently open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Tshabalala, who currently plays for the Super League team Erzurumspor in Turkey, said that he has been friends with Letsholonyane for a long time and they think it is time to take their "brothers" to a new level.
“The most challenging thing is that I am abroad, Yeye has a tight schedule, but he tries to understand all the information about the business, and when he does not participate in the competition or training, he is there.
Turkey’s Tshabalala said: “This is a cash business that requires us to operate. We are still the prototype of this industry, but we are willing to learn.”
The ShaYe Lounge has 13 employees and the bar is strictly limited to 24 years. Dress code requires restrictions on Converse and All Star takkies.
